Theatre and Performance Award Winners 2021
We are excited to announce the 2021 winners of the Theatre and Performance program awards. The last year has certainly been challenging, so we are very proud of all our students for adapting and continuing to produce such amazing work. Congratulations to all of our winners!

The Second Year award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Theatre and Performance.

This award goes to the 2nd year Theatre and Performance major who has the highest cumulative average.
Winner: Eloise Fan
The Third Year award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Theatre and Performance.

This award goes to the 3rd year Theatre and Performance major who has the highest cumulative average.
Winner: Hannah Daudlin
The Fourth Year award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Theatre and Performance.

This award goes to the 4th year Theatre and Performance major who has the highest cumulative average.

The Jocelyne Sobeski Prize for Wardrobe

This award is named for the first Head of Wardrobe and Costume Designer with the department who retired in 2012. This is a prize that is not always awarded. It is presented to a student who has exhibited exceptional discipline, insight, ability, and creativity in costuming and wardrobe skills
Winner: Yuru Su
The Lloy Coutts Acting Prize
This award named for Lloy Coutts who was an acting teaching, voice coach, dramaturg, and director who worked with the department as a sessional instructor from 1994 – 2003. She was considered one of the premier voice coaches in Canada for many decades and worked at the Stratford Festival for 11 years. She passed away in 2008. This prize is presented to a student at any level who has exhibited exceptional discipline, insight, ability, and collaborative participation as a performer.

The Technical Theatre Prize

This award is presented to a student who has exhibited exceptional discipline, insight, ability, and collaborative participation in stagecraft and theatre production.
Winner: Madie Bennett
The Robin Atchison Prize

This award is named for our Departmental Assistant who worked here from 2003 - 2015. Her position focused on all aspects of administration for THPERF, including academic advising and publicity. This prize is presented to a student who has made an exceptional overall contribution to the intellectual, creative, and collegial life of the Theatre and Performance program.
