Emily Voigt is a Master’s student in Sustainability Management working under the supervision of Dr. Simron Singh and Dr. Kumaraswamy Ponnambalam. Her research focuses on the social metabolism of small island developing states, an approach that adopts the analogy of human societies as living organisms that must produce, consume, store and dispose of critical resources to sustain themselves. Within this framework, she specifically studies the systemic risks associated with resource use patterns within water systems with the objective of identifying pathways to climate resilience. She completed her undergraduate degree in systems design engineering at the University of Waterloo.
