Glenn Smith, P.Eng., is a University of Waterloo engineering graduate. In his role as director, project management at Communitech, Smith draws on 20+ years of experience in broad business and technology development and commercialization with two University of Waterloo spin-off companies (Advanced Scientific Computing, Biomedical Photometrics), Institute National d’Optique (INO), Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and Communitech. Smith actively advises early stage companies and social ventures around approaches to create value, generate revenue and mitigate risk. Smith is also one of the founding partners and board director of Social Venture Partners Waterloo Region, and is active with a number of not-for-profit organizations.
