Glenn Smith, P.Eng., is a University of Waterloo engineering graduate.
Glenn has an extensive background as an entrepreneur, business and not-for-profit leader. He has held sales and marketing leadership roles in a variety of both bootstrapped and venture capital backed startups in the fields of genomics, digital pathology, CAE software, and virtual world/multiplayer online games (MMO). He also held leadership roles with Innovation Hubs including Communitech where he founded an incubator for social enterprises, and later led their Innovation practice for large enterprises.
Glenn has been an active volunteer in his community, including early board participation with two Foundations, Blue Sea Foundation and Social Venture Partners Waterloo Region. He has also chaired the boards of organizations such as Blue Sea Foundation and Lutheran Homes KW/Trinity Village.
Glenn is currently Founder and CEO of advisory firm, bdsmith partners, providing mentoring and coaching to both boards and leadership teams in both business and NFP settings.
