Case tracking: one community member tests positive

On Thursday, November 26, 2020, Region of Waterloo public health informed us of one individual on our campus who tested positive for COVID-19.

The individual is in self-isolation and public health officials have been in touch all relevant close contacts.

If you have not been identified as a close contact of the individual, you should continue to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and seek testing if needed.

COVID-19 “red zone” updates to campus operations

Update for students

  • Waterloo Region has moved into the “red zone” of the Province’s COVID-19 response framework, which means we need to change access to some facilities on campus.
  • Classes, labs and research operations will continue as they have been. 
  • Travel between regions of the province should be limited to essential purposes. Classes and work are considered essential purposes.

  • If you are responsible for operational safety plans, you should plan and prepare for an eventual move to the lockdown category
