What the extended COVID-19 shutdown and stay-at-home orders mean for spring term 2021

Update for graduate students

  • The province of Ontario has extended the current provincial shutdown and stay-at-home orders for 2 weeks – this affects in-person teaching, research and other operations on campus, including the beginning of spring term.  
  • Instructors will inform students about class format (in-person or remote) for the beginning of spring term (May 10, 2021) as soon as possible.

  • Most restrictions put in place regarding the outbreak will continue under the stay-at-home order

What the COVID-19 stay-at-home order means for campus operations 

Update for students and employees

  • The Region of Waterloo will be under a provincial stay-at-home order effective April 8, 2021 for a period of 28 days, which affects teaching, research and other operations on campus. 

  • Changes under the previously announced provincial shutdown will remain in effect during the stay-at-home order, including any changes to in-person classes or research activities.

  • Please continue to do your part and don’t travel outside the region.
