The province of Ontario has extended the current provincial shutdown and stay-at-home orders for 2 weeks – this affects in-person teaching, research and other operations on campus, including the beginning of spring term.
Instructors will inform students about class format (in-person or remote) for the beginning of spring term (May 10, 2021) as soon as possible.
The Region of Waterloo will be under a provincial stay-at-home order effective April 8, 2021 for a period of 28 days, which affects teaching, research and other operations on campus.
Changes under the previously announced provincial shutdown will remain in effect during the stay-at-home order, including any changes to in-person classes or research activities.

As you are all aware, we are currently working closely with Region of Waterloo public health officials to manage a serious outbreak of COVID-19 in our residence community.
