With the news of the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan affecting the people of China and the world, we wanted to reach out and let you know that the University of Waterloo, the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association and the Graduate Student Association are thinking of our students, especially many of our international students whose family and friends may be impacted by the illness and the efforts to contain its spread.
Please know that the University is taking ongoing steps to ensure the safety of our campus community and that we are working with our partners locally and nationally to stay up-to-date and prepared for any new developments. We do not take this situation lightly and as a proud internationally focused institution we know that many of our students, faculty and staff are facing challenges due to the rising outbreak.
If you have any questions or issues we have set up a dedicated email address –coronavirus@uwaterloo.ca – to offer you support.
We are here to help in any way we can and we will continue to look for ways we can support our community during this time.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
