The W.S. Rickert Graduate Fellowship in Science is valued at a minimum of $20,000.
Program
Up to three scholarships will be given each term to doctoral students registered full-time in Electrical & Computer Engineering, with a preference given to students specializing in the area of communication research.
An award, valued at up to $2,000, is given annually to a third-or fourth-year undergraduate student enrolled in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering or a graduate student enrolled in Civil Engineering who demonstrates a commitment to Construction or Project Management through course work, project work, or work term job experience. Candidates must have a minimum overall average of 75%. Recipients may not receive this award more than once. Interested students should submit an application by October 1st. Effective May 1, 2019 (spring 2019 admissions cycle), the International Master’s Award of Excellence, valued at $2,500 per term for a maximum of five full-time terms within the allowable program time limits (6 terms), will be awarded to eligible international master’s students normally entering a research-based graduate program at the University of Waterloo.
Two entrance scholarships valued at $5,000, will be awarded annually to graduate students registered full time in the first term of either the Master of Climate Change (MCC), Master of Development Practice (MDP) or the Master of Economic Development and Innovation (MEDI) programs in the Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo.
An award valued at $1,000 will be provided annually to a full-time graduate student registered in the Master’s or Doctoral program in the Department of French Studies in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo.The student must be working as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Nantes in France, or in some cases when this is not possible, the student will create a cultural report during their time in Nantes
Global Governance Master's Fellowships, valued between $15,000 - $25,000 annually, will be awarded to eligible graduate students who are registered full time in their first year of the Master's of Global Governance program in the Faculty of Arts or Faculty of Environment at the University of Waterloo.
The Guelph/Waterloo Centre for Graduate Work in Chemistry and Biochemistry (GWC2) provides a $100 First Prize and a $50 Second Prize for posters presented by current (GWC2) MSc or PhD students at the (GWC2) Annual General Meeting. The decision to give out the prizes is dependent on the availability of funds. The monetary prize will be determined by a selection committee as designated by the (GWC2) Director and will be based on the candidates' poster presentation of their research. These prizes are open to all students who present posters during the (GWC2) Annual General Meeting
This award will be provided annually to full-time undergraduate or graduate students. The successful students or student teams (up to three individuals) will have demonstrated an innovative idea aimed at solving environmental challenges or issues.
The scholarship, valued at $1,000 will be awarded annually to a University of Waterloo graduate student registered full time in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Preference will be given to students conducting research in the area of Structures, Mechanics and Construction Engineering. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduate student on the basis of scholastic excellence. This scholarship has been established through a generous donation by the late Professor Mircea Z. Cohn.
