Award description:
An award valued at $1,000 will be provided annually to a full-time graduate student registered in the Master’s or Doctoral program in the Department of French Studies in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo.The student must be working as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Nantes in France, or in some cases when this is not possible, the student will create a cultural report during their time in Nantes.

This fund is made possible by donations from alumni and faculty to the French Department trust fund.

Eligibility & selection criteria: 

  • Selection to be based on students in good standing, and working at the University of Nantes, France.
  • An application is not required.
  • The decision will be based on merit, a minimum cumulative average of 80%, and progress in the program, related to the completion of program exams.
  • The Chair of the French Department will identify the candidate(s) and select recipient(s) each Fall and/or Winter
