The Schneider Foods Graduate Scholarship will be presented to a full-time graduate student who has been awarded an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and has been accepted into the Graduate program in Engineering, Environment or Science. The scholarship recipient must be pursuing a graduate degree with a concentration in water resources and treatment.
Program
Scholarships, valued at $50,000 will be provided to graduate students who will be registered full time in a course-based or research-based master’s program in the Faculty of Engineering.
This scholarship has been established by a gift of Joyce Sinclair (B.Math. 1976, C&O) and Bill Sinclair (B.Sc. 1976, Physics). Scholarships are awarded annually, if suitable candidates exist, to full-time graduate students in Combinatorics and Optimization who have demonstrated excellence in academic and/or research work. Values of the scholarships and recipients will be determined annually by the Chair of the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization in consultation with the departmental graduate committee. The terms of this award may be redefined should the department determine a need to do so.
This scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time graduate student registered in the Faculty of Health on the basis of scholastic excellence and a demonstrated interest in research related to aging and older populations, including Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
An award valued at $1,500, will be awarded annually to a graduate student registered full time in the first year of the Master of Actuarial Science program in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science in the Faculty of Mathematics.
These awards honour deceased students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the Department of Systems Design Engineering. Awards are made, as funds permit, to full-time undergraduate or graduate students in the Department of Systems Design Engineering on the basis of academic achievement. Selection will be made by the Associate Dean of Engineering, Graduate Studies and Research. Donations have been received in memory of: Professor Muthu Chandrashekar.
An award valued at a minimum of $750 will be awarded annually to a full-time current or incoming graduate student enrolled in the Master’s or Doctoral program in the Department of Germanic & Slavic Studies in the Faculty of Arts on the basis of academic achievement and excellence in the area of German studies. Students will be nominated by the Associate Chair in Graduate Studies in the Department of Germanic & Slavic Studies in February and the recipient selected in the Winter term. This fund is made possible by a donation from Evelyn Guderian for support of continued scholarship in the area of German studies.
One annual award will be given to a graduate student in September of each year; the amount will depend on investment income. The graduate student must be enrolled in the groundwater program in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences. The student must have chosen to pursue a research topic concerning groundwater in a developing country or on the topic of regional hydrogeology in Canada.
Three awards are awarded annually based on the students’ participation in a recognized institutional Canadian-organized German language or cultural studies program abroad.These awards are made possible by a donation from Fred and Ruth Stork, and their children Michael and Marion, as loyal friends and supporters of the University of Waterloo, the Kitchener-Waterloo community and the Waterloo Centre for German Studies (WCGS).
A scholarship, valued at up to $1,500, will be awarded annually to a graduate student registered full time in the Social Area in the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Arts.
