If the Daily Bulletin is looking a bit different today, don't bother booking an eye exam, because it has debuted in the Waterloo Content Management System (WCMS) responsive design theme.
"This mobile-first approach to responsive design provides site visitors with an optimal viewing experience; whether browsing from a desktop, tablet or smartphone device, site content is clean, simple, and easy to navigate," says the University's Web Resources page.
The Daily Bulletin joins the ranks of more than 80 faculty and academic support unit sites that have gone the responsive route.
I'd like to thank my colleagues in Information Systems & Technology (IST) and Digital Communications for their efforts to translate and troubleshoot the Daily Bulletin's responsive edition.
This move to responsive design is a continuation of the Daily Bulletin redesign project, which saw the site convert to the WCMS back in April 2015, and included a reader (and non-reader) survey conducted in the Fall 2015 term. Expect even more changes in the coming weeks!
Have feedback on the site's new look? Send an email to bulletin@uwaterloo.ca.

Friday, July 1 marks the 32nd annual University of Waterloo Canada Day Celebration in partnership with our Federation of Students. We’re building another exceptional event to thank our community for its support, and hope to see upwards of 60,000 regional residents on campus, sharing their national and warrior pride.
The family fun begins at 4:00 p.m. with on-field activations, interactive activities, and live children’s entertainment by award-winning children’s musical duo, Splash’N Boots. Kids won’t want to miss seeing them light up the TVOKids Stage presented by TVOKids host, Kara.
Outstanding Canadian talent will headline our evening concert on the OpenText Stage, featuring 19 year old breakout artist Francesco Yates and classic rock icons, Trooper.
Joining our national acts will be regional favourites KW Glee and Country 106.7 morning show hosts Mike Farwell and Jennifer Campbell will return for a second year to emcee the event.
Families can explore a number of activities from face painting and arts and crafts, to inflatable obstacle courses. Get snapped in our Canada Day photo booth, catch on-field performances, cool off on the University of Waterloo Engineering Society water slide, or even have your caricature done! Everyone can fill up on tasty festival treats from a variety of local food vendors, and adults can relax and enjoy a refreshing break in our beer garden.
The spectacular fireworks display starts at approximately 10:00 p.m.
The University of Waterloo is proud to host Waterloo region’s flagship Canada Day Celebration! Join us on July 1 at Columbia Lake Fields and share your national pride with #UWCanadaDay.

The report reviews the highlights and impact of the 2015 campaign, the people behind the campaign and the fundraising events that bring the campus together every October.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
