Meet at the School Portable
Spend an evening learning about the different owls that live in Kitchener’s Natural Areas. We will begin with an indoor slideshow about owls and their habitats and behaviours. We will also go for a night hike to call and look for owls in the Huron Natural Area.
Dress appropriately for the outdoor hike. Free - All Ages Welcome!

Come join us to learn all about how to plan, prepare and ultimately survive winter weather conditions!
Come join the Ecology Lab for Earth Day 2015 where we will be running a variety of different activities such seed bombing, planting, and laundry soap!
Participants will learn about the common species of reptiles and amphibians in Ontario, lifecycles, threats, as well as what distinguishes a reptile from an amphibian. After a quick lesson participants will go outside and explore some habitats around campus where common species may reside.
Learn the basics of gardening with aquaponics and visit the aquaponics system presently in operation in E5!

In this workshop, you will
- Learn how soap is formed and the benefits of hand made soap
- Make soap with other participants
- Take home a bar of your soap
There will be opportunity to purchase soap.

Participants will learn how to identify common species of reptiles and amphibians in Ontario. We will discuss the difference between reptiles and amphibians, their life cycles and threats. There will be live animals including frogs, toads, salamanders and turtles from the Laurel Creek Nature Centre.
Join James McCarthy from MAD and the Ecology Lab as we learn about how to use a GPS, then go on a scavenger hunt looking for Halloween candy geocaches!
