Earth Day Celebration!

Be part of our Faculty wide event as we celebrate Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 12-2pm.

Starting at noon, learn how to make your own laundry detergent, as well as other green household products. Bring your own jar for a sample!

We will also be hosting a planting party! We will provide pots, soil, tags and plants! Craft materials will also be provided so pots can be decorated for a Mother’s Day gift!

Winter Wildlife Tracking

Meet at the main entrance picnic shelter

Learn how to recognize some of the common winter animal tracks and enjoy a leisurely hike through the forests and fields of the Huron Natural Area.

Birds Around the City

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced birder, you will want to attend this presentation to learn more about birds and birding in Kitchener. We will discuss different tips on bird identification and bird feeding as well as some different places within the city where you can go to discover birds in your neighbourhood.

Amphibians and Reptiles Workshop

Participants will learn about the common species of reptiles and amphibians in Ontario, lifecycles, threats, as well as what distinguishes a reptile from an amphibian. After a quick lesson participants will go outside and explore some habitats around campus where common species may reside.
