As part of an effort to enhance the graduate student experience, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is supporting the Graduate Research Seminars Series as an informal and constructive forum for students to practice their public speaking skills for presentations, conferences, and seminars. We encourage grad student participation from all research areas within ECE.
The talks will take place monthly on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:00. Each talk, including Q&A, is 30 minutes.
- One "best-seminar" award, valued at $300, will be given out every term.
- A committee of 3 faculty members (Professors Liang-Liang Xie, Zhou Wang, and Stephen Smith) is formed to organize the seminar series. The committee, chaired by Professor Xie, will be responsible for ensuring quality, participation of all research areas, and evaluation.
- Seminars will be posted on the ECE Grad Info calendar and through e-mails to the grad student mailing lists.
- You are welcome to contact the Graduate Research Seminars organization team (gradtalks@ece.uwaterloo.ca) to reserve a presentation slot. Please include the research area, title, and abstract for your talk in your e-mail. All are welcome and participation is encouraged.
