IEEE KW section is pleased to announce the upcoming full-day workshop on power system protection, which will be offered by EATON.
Having completed this workshop, students will be able to:
1) Interpret simple electrical single-line diagrams and understand protection equipment in industrial/commercial environments
2) Understand short circuit analysis and protective device coordination using basic device models in SKM Software
Registration: Send an email to our PES section secretary Ahmed to reserve your seat. There are only 20 seats available.
Instructor: Helen Mathews. MEng. PEng.
Helen has over 20+ years of engineering experience in electrical engineering consultancy, design of LV and MV power distribution, Motor Control Centres, and electrical power system analysis. Power system analysis includes short-circuit analysis, device evaluation, protective device coordination and arc-flash studies using SKM, ETAP and Easypower software. Performing power factor analysis and correction, load flow, harmonic modelling and analysis, developing protective relay settings for Generator and Transformer protection. As engineering consultant, prepared electrical specifications for projects in Oil & Gas sector and others, specified engineering details such as cable routing, cable sizing, equipment layout, electrical room layout & sizing, cable trenching, prepared load analyses, single line diagrams, relevant electrical equipment selection and sizing.
