Abstract:

This seminar discusses the evaluation of privacy leakage vulnerabilities in ten different third-party Android logging libraries, with applications from Google Play serving as the testing environment. The analysis goes beyond traditional user information exposure to examine how user input at log statements poses additional threats to privacy. By focusing on these specific logging libraries rather than individual applications, this research identifies common vulnerability patterns and security weaknesses inherent in widely-used logging frameworks, demonstrating how both static user information and dynamic user input can be inadvertently exposed through improper logging practices.
