Abstract:

By combining IoT technologies and a low-cost electromagnetic radar system, the real-time monitoring of liquid quality may allow companies to address quality issues quickly and efficiently.  This seminar demonstrates a proof-of-concept where a mm-wave FMCW radar is used for milk quality monitoring.  Dielectric characterization of milk with different fat concentrations using the DAK system provide the ground truth for the concept.  A 60 GHz radar system is used for the proof-of-concept to characterize milk inside cartons as they move along a conveyor belt.
