ECE PhD student Gowrish Basavarajappa wins best paper award at prestigious IEEE MTT-S IMS 2019 Conference

ECE’s Gowrish Basavarajappa, PhD student under the supervision of Professor Raafat Mansour, was awarded a Best Paper Award in the Advanced Practice Paper Competition (APPC) at the prestigious 2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS) in Boston, MA for his research on “A Tunable Coaxial Filter with Minimum Variations in Absolute Bandwidth and Q Using a Single Tuning Element.”

The IEEE MTT International Microwave Symposium (IMS) is the premier annual international meeting for technologists involved in all aspects of microwave theory and practice. Every year IMS attracts more than 10,000+ attendees and 600+ exhibitors.

The purpose of the Advanced Practice Paper Competition (APPC) is to recognize outstanding technical contributions that apply to practical applications.
