The Electrical and Computer Engineering department welcomed Werner Dietl as an assistant professor on October 1, 2013.
Werner received his Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in Computer Science from The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich in 2009 and obtained a Diplom-Ingenieur in Applied Computer Science and Business from The University of Salzburg, Austria, in 2003. Since November 2009, he has been a Post Doctoral Research Associate at The University of Washington, Seattle, USA.
His main areas of research are programming languages and software engineering. He combines theoretical results with practical tools so developers can create high-quality, trustworthy software.
