The Electrical and Computer Engineering department is pleased to announce that Lan Wei has joined the department effective January 20.

Dr. Lan Wei is an excellent researcher in the fields of electronic devices, advanced modeling and integrated circuits. Dr. Wei received her Masters and PhD degrees, both in Electrical Engineering, from Stanford University in 2007 and 2010, respectively. She is a holder of two bachelor’s degrees, in Microelectronics and in Economics, from Peking University (China) in 2005. Though a relatively young researcher, Dr. Wei has already established a solid research record of highly multidisciplinary nature demonstrating an expertise in nano- and micro-electronics not only at device level, but also at integrated circuits and system levels. Following her PhD, Dr. Wei spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At present she is with the California based Altera Corporation, company that offers application specific integrated circuit solutions. Dr. Lei has published in top venues such as IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, Nanotechnology, Device and Material Reliability etc. In 2009, she has been a Key Contributor International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS), a globally accepted body that ensures cost-effective advancements in the performance of integrated circuits and products leading to industrial success.

Lan’s office is E5 4023, extension 31423.
