ESQ Winter STEM Library Clubs

Calling all future scientists and engineers! Join ESQ at WPL or KPL on Monday evenings for a 4-week, hands-on adventure where you'll unleash your creativity! Together we will explore cool technology, design solutions to real-world challenges, and connect with other passionate STEM enthusiasts. Get ready to think big, work with others, and have fun as you dive into the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and math! 

Registration is done through WPL’s and KPL’s online events calendars. 

Program Price: Free, registration required!

Kitchener Public Library (KPL) 

Location: Central Branch 

When: Monday evenings, 4:00 - 5:00 pm 

Ages 7 – 10 (Grade 2-4) 

  • Dates: Jan 20, 27, Feb 3, 10 

Waterloo Public Library (WPL) 

Location: Eastside Branch

When: Monday evenings, 7:00 - 8:00 pm 

Ages 7 – 9 (Grade 2-4) 

  • Dates: Jan 20, 27, Feb 3, 10 

Ages 10-12 (Grade 5-7) 

  • Dates: March 17, 24, April 7, April 14 (Please note this program skips March 31)

ESQ Old Post Office Winter Workshop series

ESQ Old Post Office Workshop Series

ESQ will be in Cambridge @ the Idea Exchange's Old Post Office location delivering a STEM workshop series this winter! Registration is required to participate in each workshop. See below for insight into the specific workshop content! 

Ages: 8 - 12

Program Price: Free, registration required! 

Location: Old Post Office

When: Tuesday Evenings, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

  • Dates: January 21 & February 11 

Workshop Content: 

  • Red Alert (January 21): Join ESQ for an exciting workshop where kids design and build a moon base that can withstand falling meteors! They’ll learn about gravity while creating structures with craft materials, then test their designs against bigger “meteors.” 

  • Keep it Safe! (February 11): Quick, secure your treasures from pesky crooks! Join ESQ for a thrilling secret mission where young engineers will use the engineering design cycle and Lego Spike Prime kits to create a high-tech safe. They’ll craft clever mechanisms to lock and unlock their safe-deposit box while diving into coding and mechanics.
