We know that COVID-19 continues to have a significant effect on our students’ University experience. We want students to know that we are doing everything we can to give them the support they need to keep studying towards their degrees.

Recognizing that we have changed some of our student services and that some are not accessible to students studying at a distance from our campuses, leaders from the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA), the Graduate Students Association (GSA) and the University have again reviewed all incidental fees.

All travel outside Canada that is not vital to our academic mission has been suspended. Please visit the travel advice page for additional information as well as information for Finance Stakeholders located at the bottom of the page which contains information regarding eligibility of reimbursement for travel cancellations.

2019 T2202s are now available.  Please log into the Finances section on Quest to access the final version of your 2019 tax document.  If you are not on campus, two-factor authentication will be required.  We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Our email communication dated January 7, 2020 asked that individuals who were students in 2019 log into their Quest account and verify or enter their Social Insurance Number (SIN) and provide consent for their SIN to be used by the University of Waterloo (UW) for tax documents and certain financial aid.

Effective 2019, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements mandate that a student’s Social Insurance Number (SIN) be included on the following tax documents: T2202 (Tuition and Enrolment Certificate) and T4A (Statement of Pension, Retirement, Annuity, and Other Income) issued for scholarships, bursaries and awards.  

Finance, including Student Financial Services, will be closed January 22, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a full staff meeting. The front counter will be closed during this time. Normal operations will resume at 1:00 p.m.

Finance will be closed on Tuesday, December 3rd from 11:45am-1:45pm for a special holiday event. The front counter will be closed during this time. Normal operations will resume at 1:45pm.
