Thinking about studying at Waterloo, but worried about your English language test scores? Here is some good news.
You could study at Waterloo while improving your English skills through the Bridge to Academic Success in English (BASE) program – or Math/Bridge to Academic Success in English (Math/BASE) if you’ve applied to a program in the Faculty of Mathematics (previously named Math/English Language for Academic Studies or Math/ELAS).
How it works
If you meet the academic qualifications for the program you’ve applied to, but your TOEFL, IELTS, or other English language test score does not quite meet Waterloo's requirements, you can be considered for a conditional offer of admission to BASE or Math/BASE at Waterloo.
Once you've successfully completed BASE or Math/BASE, you'll move into full-time studies at Waterloo.
Our goal is to make your transition to full-time university studies easier and your time at Waterloo enjoyable and successful.
