Title: Evaluating Evolving Dynamics of Belcher Glacier, Nunavut, Canada
Abstract: Belcher Glacier, the largest marine-terminating glacier of Devon Ice Cap, Nunavut, Canada, is undergoing a change in its dynamics. Since 2015, Belcher Glacier has experienced a sudden acceleration in its flow velocities, similar to the fastest flowing glaciers in the Canadian High Arctic. This research aims to investigate how the intra-annual dynamics of Belcher Glacier have evolved given this acceleration and determine potential drivers of this sudden dynamic shift using remote sensing and in-situ observations.

Title: Investigating Reanalysis and LDAS Soil Temperature Performance over the Extratropical Northern Hemisphere
Abstract: Here I explore the performance of soil temperatures from several modern reanalysis and land data assimilation systems over the extratropical northern hemisphere. Regional differences in performance, particularly over high latitude and high elevation regions are explored, and the role of snow cover and snow thermal insulation in accounting for differences between product performance is investigated.
