Aaron Thompson, a masters student in our department, was the winner of the Campbell Scientific Canada Award ($500) at the 71st Annual Eastern Snow Conference, held in North Carolina last week. This competitive award is presented to the author of a paper submitted by a Canadian student demonstrating the most innovative use of technology in the gathering of data. Aaron Thompson’s paper was entitled "Radar observations of seasonal snow in an agricultural field in S. Ontario during the 2013-14 winter season”.
Congratulations Aaron!

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Indigenous Initiatives Office.
