Will you have completed GER 102 by the end of Winter 2014? Or do you have comparable elementary knowledge of the German language? If so, and you would like to get to the Intermediate level of German over the summer, then the 2014 Waterloo Summer School in Mannheim is for you!

The Department of Germanic & Slavic Studies is organizing a Summer School at the University of Mannheim in Germany from July 4 to August 15, 2014.

Go to Mannheim, take classes and immerse yourself in German life and culture. AND get the equivalent of three term courses!

Summer School highlights:

  • Take language and culture courses designed exclusively for UW students.
  • Get credit for up to three courses (GER 201, GER 202, GER 299).
  • Take part in several cultural events and trips (Heidelberg, Mannheim opera).
  • Unlimited use of Mannheim public transportation for the duration of the Waterloo Summer School.
  • Housing included.
  • Costs:
    • Tuition for 1.5 course units (three term courses) at UW and continue receiving OSAP.
    • Flight
    • Program fees of approximately $1000 (EUR 750.00) to cover housing, Mannheim transportation pass, cultural and social events
  • Scholarships are available for students in the Faculty of Arts.

Eligibility:

GER 102 completed or comparable German language knowledge.
