
Where and what did you study before you came to Germanic and Slavic Studies at the University of Waterloo?
Germanistik: Sprache, Literatur, Medien (German Studies: Linguistics, Literature, Media) at the University in Mannheim.
What are your interests in German Studies?
I'm interested in both linguistics and literature, but my focus tends to be more on literary studies. I'm especially interested in theories related to modern topics, such as feminist studies.
Why did you choose the University of Waterloo?
The University of Waterloo is part of the joint degree program of the ICGS. I really like the opportunities it will offer me after graduating, as well as the focus on intercultural studies. The atmosphere at the university seems very welcoming and vibrant, especially within the German and Slavic department.
Do you already know what you want to write your thesis on?
I’m not sure yet since I’m debating between linguistic and literary studies, but I’m looking forward to getting inspired by the classes I have here.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Ballet dancer in Barbie movies.
What is a fun fact about you?
I’ve already been to South Korea as an exchange student for one semester.
