Joint MA in Intercultural German Studies

Where and what did you study before you came to Germanic and Slavic Studies at the University of Waterloo?
I studied the BA “Current English Linguistics and Literary Studies” at the University of Mannheim, Germany.
What are your interests in German Studies?
I am most interested in literary studies, especially with a focus on female narratives.
Why did you choose the University of Waterloo?
The program “Intercultural German Studies” is a joined program of my home university in Mannheim and the University of Waterloo, so it was a given that I come here. But I have always been interested in studying abroad and was especially intrigued by this place.
Do you already know what you want to write your thesis on?
To be honest, I have no idea yet, but I am sure my studies here will inspire me.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher, but I don’t see myself doing that anymore.
What is a fun fact about you?
This is my first time outside of Europe.
