The Global Water Futures Observatory rents field equipment to Canadian academics and partners to support data collection and the analysis of water from sites in the GWFO network.

Field equipment rentals are available through four laboratories: Ecohydrology, Ecotoxicology, Cryosphere Remote Sensing, and Hydrogeology.
- Ecohydrology field equipment: sampling and characterization of water and sediments;
- Ecotoxicology field equipment: sampling and studying of fish to investigate the effects of stressors on fish physiology;
- Cryosphere Remote Sensing field equipment: studying of ice and water using remote sensing (e.g., drones); and
- Hydrogeology Laboratory field equipment: sampling and characterization of groundwater.
