Steph’s role as a Research Scientist is to manage the University of Waterloo Ecohydrology field deployable systems and field observatory sites as well as to support laboratory activities in the Ecohydrology laboratory facilities. Steph completed her MSc at the University of Waterloo in Earth Sciences with a specialization in Integrated Water Management. Since completing her MSc, Steph has supported research activities in the Ecohydrology research group and has been involved in research investigating the impacts of urbanization on phosphorus loads to Lake Ontario, hydrocarbon biodegradation and the associated greenhouse gas emissions in contaminated soils, microplastics emissions from urban catchments, and how chemical energy controls microbial activity in soils and groundwater.
