The NSERC IPS program will be discontinued following the fulfillment of current commitments, after which Mitacs’ Accelerate will provide industrial research opportunities.
New applications will continue to be accepted by NSERC until August 31, 2015. In order to allow the Graduate Studies Office (GSO) time to process the applications, students who wish to apply must submit a completed application to the GSO by July 31, 2015.
The NSERC IPS program provides financial support for highly qualified science and engineering graduates. The support allows applicants to gain research experience in industry while undertaking advanced studies in Canada. These scholarships are aimed at encouraging scholars to consider research careers in industry where they will be able to contribute to strengthening Canadian innovation.
The value of the scholarship is $15,000 per year for up to three years from NSERC, plus a minimum contribution from the sponsoring organization of $6,000 per year. As a result, the scholarship is worth a minimum of $21,000 per year.
