To all Waterloo students,
Transportation is a large part of the University of Waterloo’s environmental footprint and is an integral component of the University’s planning. We’re committed to more sustainable practices in managing the daily movement of tens of thousands of people to our campuses.
Parking Services has created a plan that will ensure equitable access and optimized usage of parking lots, and will make walking, cycling, carpooling, and transit more effective and convenient.
For 12 years, the University has been providing parking services at the same rates. To continue to deliver on our community’s expectations, we need to expand and enhance our services which will require an increase in parking fees. New pricing as follows (prices include tax):
Please refer to the complete list of parking rates on the Parking Services website.
As of May 1, Parking Services will become Sustainable Transportation, which is more descriptive of the services that will be provided.
Sustainable Transportation’s transformative plan will include improvements such as:
Thank you for your support as we implement these enhancements to Parking Services. For more information, visit the Parking Services website and refer to the FAQ Section, or contact strnsprt@uwaterloo.ca if you have additional questions.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
