Graduate student entrepreneurs can now apply to a new startup fund!
The Velocity Graduate Student Startup Fund, which was launched on December 10, 2018, provides an opportunity for graduate students to win $20,000 in funding for their startup and acceptance into the Velocity Garage incubator program. The winning team, and the top two finalists, will also have the unique opportunity to disseminate their research through a professional showcase video that will be produced about their research, commercialization path and startup ambition.

The application deadline is January 20, 2019.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
