Scholarships valued at $10,000/year for one year, with an opportunity for renewal, will be awarded annually to graduate students registered full-time in a research-based program at the University of Waterloo who are conducting research in cybersecurity or privacy. Eligible students must be supervised or co-supervised by faculty members affiliated with the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute (CPI).
Based on continued demonstration of excellence in cybersecurity or privacy, full-time registration in the program and good academic standing in their program, a scholarship can be renewed up to three times for a PhD student and up to one time for a Master's student in their current program.
Interested students must submit an application package consisting of a short CV (including a list of publications and awards), a description of their research area, a transcript and a short letter of support from their graduate supervisor by June 30 to the Operations Manager of the CPI.
Selection will be made by a committee chaired by the Executive Director of CPI in July.
Please contact the Operations Manager of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute (CPI) for further information regarding this award.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
