Graduate funding and awards database

Our Awards Database helps current and future Waterloo graduate students to identify funding opportunities. Details on awards, bursaries and other scholarships administered through Waterloo are found within. Students are advised to check the database often as changes to award information including eligibility criteria, award value, application process, deadlines and the availability of funds can occur at any time.

How to use the database

Each selection category defaults to "Any" if you do not select something specific. To search all awards, let each selection category default to "Any" and click the Submit button. The search results will return all awards in the database in alphabetical order by award name. Adding quotation marks around key words of two or more may help to refine the search; i.e., day care bursary vs “day care bursary”.

The database is searchable using a variety of criteria:

Level Search for funding available to Master's or Doctoral students or select "Any" for funding open to both.
Award Type Narrow your search to bursaries and need based funding, awards for specific areas of research etc. or select "Any" to include all options.
Selection Process Specify only awards to which you can apply etc. or select "Any" to include all options.
Affiliation Search only for awards available to specific groups of students like part-time, women etc. or select "Any" to include all options.
Program Search on funding available to your specific program or select "any" to include all options.
Term Search awards available in a specific term or select "Any" to include all options.
Citizenship Search funding available to domestic or international students or select "Any" to include all options.
Keyword search If you know part or all of the award name that you want to find or if you are looking for awards in a specific research area, offered by a specific agency or with specific selection criteria etc. type the keyword(s) or here to narrow your search results.
