Wellness Sessions for Spring 2022

With the help of the Healthy Workplace Committee, Human Resources has organized various wellness sessions for you to virtually attend this Spring 2022 term. These online learning events will be one-hour in length and will be facilitated through Microsoft Teams by Homewood Health, the provider of our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) for employees at the University.

 Registration for all sessions opens May 12th

Session Information Session Description

The Emotional Effects of Retirement

May 26th at 11:30 am

May 30th at 7:00 pm

June 6th at 1:00 pm

Planning to retire can be a source of both excitement and anxiety. Whatever the emotional response, retirement marks a transition to a new life stage and lifestyle in which daily routines, identity, and roles all change. This session will introduce participants to the emotional effects of retirement. Participants will get an opportunity to reflect on what their ideal retirement looks like and what they can do to make it happen.

Foundations of Positive Parenting

June 1st at 11:30 am

June 8th at 7:00 pm

This practical and interactive session will provide participants with the principles and tools of positive parenting focused on children’s skills in social development and well-being.  Participants will also be given an opportunity to review and discuss strategies for bringing positive parenting into the home.

Communication in family life

May 31st at 11:30 am

June 7th at 1:00 pm

June 14th at 7:00 pm

This session describes some fundamental aspects of communication that apply to interactions within families.  Employees will review communication strategies and skills that allow for healthy and open communication to enhance the quality of their relationships during these challenging times.
