In this first talk of the 2022-2023 History Speaker Series, historian Andrew Hunt discusses the process of writing his new book, We Begin Bombing in Five Minutes: Late Cold War Culture in the Age of Reagan, an account of the twilight years of the Cold War, against the backdrop of an eventful decade, the 1980s. He will explore the challenges he faced in separating his own memories of the this colourful era from the events he chronicled in his book.
