History students, staff, faculty and instructors have come together to respond to racism on campus and in our world to form the History Anti-Racism Taskforce (HART). Its mission is to work collaboratively to create anti-racist and equitable learning and working environments for all while challenging white supremacy and systemic racism within our institution and wider communities.
HART envisions a Department in which:
-
All students, staff, and faculty feel that they are represented, respected, empowered, and safe;
-
Critical thinking, accountability, and anti-racism shape our learning, research, teaching, communications, and operations;
-
The diverse voices, experiences, expressions, and intersectional identities of racialized groups on campus are centered, represented, and respected; and,
-
We are actively engaging, working, and standing in solidarity with partners at the University and within the wider community.
