History's Anti-Racism Taskforce has launched!

Monday, May 3, 2021

History students, staff, faculty and instructors have come together to respond to racism on campus and in our world to form the History Anti-Racism Taskforce (HART). Its mission is to work collaboratively to create anti-racist and equitable learning and working environments for all while challenging White supremacy and systemic racism within our institution and wider communities.

HART envisions a Department in which:

  • All students, staff, and faculty feel that they are represented, respected, empowered, and safe;

  • Critical thinking, accountability, and anti-racism shape our learning, research, teaching, communications, and operations;

  • The diverse voices, experiences, expressions, and intersectional identities of racialized groups on campus are centered, represented, and respected; and,

  • We are actively engaging, working, and standing in solidarity with partners at the University and within the wider community.

Stay tuned for more content on the History website soon from HART.
