Honouring Professors Harrigan, English and Mitchinson: The HEM History Scholarship for Academic Achievement and Community Service

Wednesday, June 10, 2015

The History Department at the University of Waterloo is excited to announce the creation of a student award in honour of three retired professors: Patrick Harrigan, John English, and Wendy Mitchinson.

The HEM History Scholarship for Academic Achievement and Community Service will award at least one upper-year UW History student each year that excels in both academics and commitment to the community.

The award will recognize the three honorees for their years of service to students and scholarship at UW, while also supporting future History students for their excellence.

The scholarship will be made possible by generous donations from alumni and friends. To date many donors have chosen to support the scholarship with gifts of all sizes. With a goal of endowing the scholarship, the Faculty of Arts and the History Department are welcoming additional donations to support the HEM History Scholarship for Academic Achievement and Community Service.
