History Professor Dr Steven Bednarski and his collaborators at the Bader International Study Centre and Queen's University have won a major SSHRC Award to pursue their interdisciplinary research into climate change at the lost medieval village and manor of Herstmonceux, in East Sussex, England.

Ian MilliganEffective May 1, 2005, in accordance with the 2003 Faculty Salary Settlement, the University of Waterloo established an Outstanding Performance Fund to reward faculty members for outstanding contribution in teaching and scholarship.

Among the 2014 Arts Faculty winners is History's very own, Ian Milligan!

From an excellent field of 46 entries, five books drawn from across Canada made the shortlist for the 2014 John W. Dafoe Book Prize, including The Canadian Rangers: A Living History, by uWaterloo History professor Whitney Lackenbauer.

A history professor from the University of Waterloo who is an expert in human rights and race relations in Canada has been named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC).

Professor Jim Walker received the honour after his peers selected him from a list of exceptional candidates.

Specializing in healthcare history, Professor Heather MacDougall is currently involved in a project that addresses the ongoing issue of public support for and opposition to immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases. By focusing specifically on the much contested MMR vaccine from its introduction in the 1970s to the present, Dr. MacDougall's research highlights the key influencing factors which affect parental decision-making about their childrens' healthcare.
