Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC)

The Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC) is located at St. Paul’s University College. They work to share Indigenous knowledge and provide culturally relevant information and support services with the University of Waterloo community, including Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, staff, and faculty.  

The services that the Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre provides are “premised on understanding, respect, and trust, as well as a recognition of and sensitivity to the different cultural values and rights of Indigenous peoples and cultures.” 

Ceremonial Fire Grounds and Medicine Garden

The Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC) has opened a Ceremonial Fire Ground and Medicine Garden on campus. This space facilitates community-building throughout the university and surrounding area and provides a place for peaceful reflection. This space supports cultural and educational programming and is overseen by WISC. 

Indigenous Knowledge Keeper's Space

Located in B.C Mathews Hall (BMH) 3101, Myeengun Henry, Indigenous Knowledge Keeper and Elder welcomes folks to spend time with him in his office. Drop by and say hello, or book an appointment to discuss things with Myeengun by emailing myeengun.henry@uwaterloo.ca.

Indigenous Gathering Space

Located in B.C Mathews Hall 3701, the Indigenous Gathering Space is a warm and welcoming environment for Indigenous folks to get together, share, meet, and spend time in a good way. For more information please contact myeengun.henry@uwaterloo.ca
