International Week 2020 is a collaborative effort, organized by a wide array of departments, units and student groups at the University of Waterloo, with coordination by Waterloo International. We hope you were able to attend some of the events, learn from these experiences or share some of your activities with others and that you enjoyed participating in these events!

Thanks to everyone who has participated in International Week 2020 (IW) so far this week. To date, numerous campus partners from across the University of Waterloo have hosted events that highlight the value of multilingualism and intercultural understanding in today’s globalized world and there are many more events planned for the rest of the week.

Waterloo International recentlyaccepted a donation of 5,000 face masks from Sci Innovation Centre, Canada Confederation of Shenzhen Associations, and Canada Aixin Charity Foundation, on behalf of the University of Waterloo.

Representatives from Waterloo International, and other campus partners, attended the annual International Women’s Day Dinner, hosted by the University of Waterloo, to acknowledge the important role women play in society. Dean of Applied Health Sciences, Lili Liu was the distinguished guest speaker.

The University of Waterloo was pleased to welcome Professors Marc-André Pick and Daniel-André Dücker from Hamburg University of Technology in Germany. While on campus, both delegates met with various faculties and departments, including a Waterloo International team, led by  Assistant Vice-President, International Operations, Christine McWebb.

Waterloo International recently joined the Office of Research and other campus partners, in a meeting with a French delegation from the University of Bordeaux. Key discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two institutions, exploring new joint research projects, as well as reviewing existing and past research collaborations.
