Rogers/Fido outage affecting Notifications from LEARN for some users

There is currently an outage occurring with Rogers' and Fido's email-to-SMS gateway. LEARN makes use of this Rogers-owned gateway to send notifications by text message to end users.  If you did not set up your account to receive notifications by text message (SMS) or if Rogers or Fido is not your mobile provider, you will not be affected. 
The following functionality will not be working until this issue is resolved by Rogers and Fido: 
  • Users will be unable to register their cell phones as a contact method in LEARN because the confirmation code would never arrive. (for users who use Rogers or Fido as their mobile carrier)
  • Instant Notifications for users that have selected "SMS" as their notification method will not be received (for users who use Rogers or Fido as their mobile carrier)
When did it break, and when will it be fixed?
These SMS messages would have stopped being delivered on July 3rd at approximately 4pm (ET). Rogers are aware of the problem and are working on it, with no ETA on a fix. We will post a follow-up notification once we are notified that messages sent via Rogers and Fido providers are no longer failing.
What can you do in the meantime?
In the interim, those affected users can update their "Notifications" settings in the LEARN to send emails instead of SMS for those "Instant Notifications" they currently have going to SMS.
To modify Notifications login to LEARN and click your name in the top right corner, then select Notifications. See Documentation below for detailed instructions.
