Join Classical Studies Professor Altay Coşkun for an introduction to the Special Collection & Archives’ Pyke coin collection and a practical opportunity to learn how to date a Roman Imperial coin.
This hands-on workshop will cover:
- Meaningful iconographic elements
- Standard elements of inscription
- Tools needed to help identify coins, including the main printed and online catalogues
In preparation for the workshop, participants will receive digital materials, including a short introduction, glossary, and bibliography. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops.
