Are you planning to publish a systematic review? Or considering incorporating a scoping review in your thesis? The Systematic and Scoping Review Workshop series will provide you with foundational knowledge to help prepare and plan the methodologies used in these types of knowledge synthesis projects.
In this third workshop, you will learn about two technical tools that can help you during your systematic or scoping review project: Covidence, to streamline the review process, and Zotero, a reference manager, to work with the search results from your structured review to generate in-cite citations and an automated bibliography.
NOTE: Participants will need to register and download Covidence (systematic review software) and Zotero (reference manager) prior to the workshop. Remember to register using your UWaterloo email to access the Library’s institutional licenses.
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
- Learn how to import and export bibliographic references from Covidence and Zotero
- Understand how to use Covidence and Zotero for teams and groups
- Understand how to screen articles with Covidence using custom inclusion and exclusion criteria
- Learn how to build a basic data extraction template in Covidence for included studies
- Learn how to work with in-text citations in Microsoft Word, using Zotero
- Learn how to generate an automated bibliography using Zotero
This is the final of three workshops the Library is hosting this term on systematic and scoping reviews. Join us for one, two or all three workshops to confidently take on your upcoming knowledge synthesis projects. Please register for each workshop separately.
