SOMMeRS 2023: Southern Ontario Medical MicroRobotics Symposium

Tuesday, July 11, 2023

Dr. Behrad Khamesee was invited as a flash talk speaker in the session on Magnetically levitated mirorobots for micromanipulation and biomedical applications at SOMMeRS 2023 on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Joseph Nofech and Afarin Khabbazian, two MASc students from our laboratory, also participated in poster presentation.

Joseph Nofech presents his current research work on the maglev micromanipulator system with the poster title: "AI-assisted navigation of a magnetically levitation cell injection platform".

Afarin Khabbazian presents the poster title: "Small scale soft magnetic robot for applications in the urinary tract".

SOMMeRS (Southern Ontario Medical MicroRobotics Symposium) is a celebration of over 20 years of medical microrobotics research with pioneers in the field. The symposium will shine a spotlight on the growing multidisciplinary field of medical nano/microrobotics in our community at Waterloo and neighbouring cities in Southern Ontario. This is a great opportunity for active researchers in microrobotics and related topics to connect and share their progress and challenges.

The SOMMeRS 2023 is on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST on the Waterloo campus
