On Aug 21, 2026, Dr. Veronika Magdanz and Dr. Ethan Batiste hosted the SOMMeRS symposium on medical device topics, drawing on microbiotic concepts. The symposium welcomed Dr. Eric Diller, Dr. Cameron Forbrigger, Dr. Onaizah Onaizah, Dr. Mahla Poudineh, Dr. Wang Xian, Dr. Jiachen Zhang, Dr. Henry Shum, Dr. Zeinab Hosseinidoust, and Dr. Yang Wang (on behalf of Dr. Behrad Khamesee). The speakers are mainly from the University of Toronto, McMaster University, City University of Hong Kong, Queen's University, and the University of Waterloo.

In the RoboHub Spring Symposium, the Maglev Microrobotic Lab reported research into using Maglev Planar Motors to assist operators in manufacturing environments as future transport systems.

Sebastian Viancha, MASc, reported the current research progress, including maglev system development, robotic development, and intelligent-related control.

Afarin Khabbazian, a MASc student from our laboratory, presented her research with the poster title: "Magnetically actuated soft robots for applications in the urinary tract" in the Poster Showcase session at Biomedical Engineering and Technology Research Day on July 24, 2024.

Afarin Khabbazian, a MASc student from our laboratory, is selected as a nominee for best student paper awards at the International Conference on Manipulation, Automation and Robotics at Small Scales (MARSS2024), with a paper titled: "Magnetic actuation of small-scale soft robots".

Dr. Behrad Khamesee was invited as a flash talk speaker in the session on Magnetically levitated mirorobots for micromanipulation and biomedical applications at SOMMeRS 2023 on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Chanuphon Trakarnchaiyo and Ridwan Bari, our PhD candidate and MASc student from the Magnetic Levitation Floor team hosted a workshop at Canadian Hyperloop Conference 2023 on May 27, 2022.

Ridwan Bari and Joseph Nofech, two MASc students from our laboratory participated in poster presentation at the Waterloo Robotics Day event on March 6, 2023.

Dr. Behrad Khamesee and Magnetic Levitation Floor team welcomed the SuperTrak engineering team from ATS Automation to visit the Maglev Microrobotics Laboratory and RoboHub on March 3, 2023.

Chanuphon Trakarnchaiyo and Curtis Stewart, our PhD candidate and MASc student from Magnetic Levitation Floor team hosted a workshop at Canadian Hyperloop Conference 2022 on May 28, 2022.

Parichit Kumar, our PhD candidate, was placed in 3^rd place for the poster presentation competition at the Holistic Innovation for Additive Manufacturing (HI-AM) conference in June 2021 for his poster titled "Design and Analysis of a Magnetic Levitation Systems for Additive Manufacturing Applications".
