MFCF has eight high-end GPU-equipped laptops for researchers interested in exploring GPU computing before committing to an expensive workstation. The laptops are available for short term loans. We also have a GPU in an external enclosure that you can connect to your own laptop.
- one Dell Precision 7680 Linux Laptop with Intel Core i9-13950HX, 24-core in the 8P+16E format, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB M.2 SSD, and RTX 5000 GPU
- one Dell G15 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU that can be used with the NVIDIA CUDA libraries for computing
- two Dell Alienware x16 R1 with RTX 4080 GPUs running Windows, including the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
- two Apple 16" MacBook Pros with M2 Max 12-core CPU, 38-core GPU, and 16-core neural engine
- two Apple 16" MacBook Pros with M3 Max 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU, and 16-core neural engine
- one Razer Core enclosure with an NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti GPU
The CUDA libraries can be used with mathematical applications such as Python (Anaconda), R, and MATLAB. We have a collection of articles to help you with that. (CUDA is not supported on Apple GPUs.)
