Two Additional Rooms Equipped with Split-Screen Video Recording
Two more rooms in the CMHR are now equipped with dual cameras, allowing for split-screen video recording of interactions during psychotherapy. This setup provides the much-needed capacity to capture both individuals face-on simultaneously.
These most recent installations were generously funded by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) grant held by Drs. Erik Woody and Pamela Sadler, for the purpose of studying moment-to-moment patterns over time that coordinate and intertwine people’s behaviours. This research program will lead to applications for helping people move toward more effective interactions.
According to CMHR Executive Director, Dr. David Moscovitch, “This installation is a wonderful example of our integration of clinical research, clinical training, and clinical care in the CMHR.” Dr. Moscovitch went on to say “While installed to advance this important research, the new cameras have the benefit of enhancing our clinical supervision by allowing supervisors to watch both our students and their clients simultaneously.”
